Job Summary:
The Director of Sales, Mission Critical is responsible for driving sales growth and market share within the mission critical space across North America. This role involves leading a team of direct reports, managing key client relationships, developing and executing sales strategies, and ensuring the achievement of regional sales targets. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a proven track record of success in sales in the mission critical space, a deep understanding of the mission critical market, and excellent team management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive mission critical sales strategy to achieve and exceed sales quotas.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, forecasting future sales accurately.
- Personally engage in and drive the closing of complex, high-value strategic enterprise deals, acting as the executive sponsor for major regional accounts.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other internal teams to align on business goals and initiatives.
- Participate in strategic planning and budgeting for the sales department.
2. Team Management & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and coach Account Executives to maximize their performance and professional growth.
- Set clear performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Work with Sales Enablement to organize sales meetings, training sessions, and workshops to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that promotes high performance and accountability.
- Assist the team in complex sales negotiations and closing key deals.
3. Client Relationship Management:
- Manage and grow relationships with key accounts and strategic partners within the region.
- Act as a point of escalation for client issues and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular business reviews with top clients to ensure their needs are met and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build brand awareness and network with potential clients.
4. Reporting & Administration:
- Provide timely and accurate sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.
- Utilize Salesforce, PowerBI and Scratchpad to track sales activities, manage the pipeline, and maintain customer data.
- Manage the regional sales budget, ensuring expenses are within approved limits.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, sales techniques, and market developments.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience: 6+ years of B2B enterprise SaaS sales experience, including 3+ years managing and leading a quota-carrying sales team.
- Industry Expertise: Must possess a strong background in selling complex technology or software solutions into the mission critical industry.
- Management Skills: Proven ability to coach, motivate, and scale a distributed sales team.
- Closing & Forecasting: Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets both personally and through a managed team, with expertise in pipeline management and accurate forecasting in Salesforce.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to understand and clearly articulate the benefits of AI, Computer Vision, and data analytics to executive and operational leaders in construction.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field. An MBA or specific leadership training is a plus.
